OiOi Studded Tote: Va Va Va Voom!

When it comes to diaper bags, this one is H.O.T. I’m really loving the style, size and color. It makes a statement and the statement is not, “I’m carrying a dorky diaper bag.”

This is the OiOi Red Studded Tote and is does everything except change and burp your baby. Now don’t get too excited because it’s back ordered at Arte Bebe until July. Nevertheless, it’s fabulous and here’s why:

– elasticized feature pockets
– one main internal compartment with 3 elasticized pockets
– 4 exterior pockets (2 with magnetic snap closure)
– water resistant nylon lining and accessories
– antique brass hardware
– fixed stroller straps
– large padded microfiber change mat
– insulated bottle holder- insulation 2 hours – (Max bottle size 330mm)
– OiOi hard wipes case
– protective metal feet on base

Find it at Arte Bebe for $160. Don’t forget to shop around a bit because it’s one of my all time fave baby shops!

Shop BabyEarth for Baby Gear Galore in Austin, TX

babyearth1

If you’re shopping for baby gear in Austin, TX, you MUST check out BabyEarth. In addition to an online store, BabyEarth has a physical store in Round Rock near the outlets and it’s far superior to the competition. Why? You can test drive strollers from brands like Orbit, Stokke, Maclaren and Quinny and you can see all types of car seats to determine the best one for your needs. They have diaper bags, crib bedding, nursery furniture and the list goes on.

This store lives up to its name because you will also find a huge selection of eco-friendly and organic baby items. From wooden toys to cloth diapers to glass baby bottles, BabyEarth has the newest, most innovative products in the market. You won’t find most of these products at the other baby stores in town.  And if you do, you will only find a limited selection.

I personally love this store because the salespeople are knowledgeable about every single product they sell. Unlike other stores where they can’t answer simple questions, the folks at BabyEarth know their stuff. This is especially helpful when you’re a first time mom and feel overwhelmed by all of the options. Last year, a salesperson at BabyEarth introduced my husband and I to the Joovy Caboose and it was the perfect solution for us. I have since bought tons of items from BabyEarth and have been consistently impressed by the price, quality and customer service.

If you haven’t been to BabyEarth, you need to check it out. Seriously! You won’t be disappointed.

How Can You NOT Love the Xplory Stroller?

xplory1MommyQ was first introduced to the unique Stokke Xplory stroller last year. I actually got to see every little feature and benefit thanks to a peppy sales person who did a demo for me. Not too long after I saw it, it was featured in the “Sex and The City” movie as Charlotte’s stroller of choice. And what a stroller! You thought the Bugaboo or the Orbit was cool? The Xplory is beyond cool.

It may look odd because it sits so high off the ground, but that’s the point. A ride in this stroller puts your baby at eye level with everyone else. They no longer look at feet or breathe in dirt and dust from the ground. And you can easily push baby facing you instead of facing out to the crowds. In fact, CNN reported that facing-out strollers cause stress to babies. Seriously! Read the report here. Your baby benefits from an elevated perspective of his or her surroundings and it allows you to interact with your child more easily. (Think about it. Don’t you feel silly when you’re sitting at a table with everyone and you end up in the short chair?)

Now the Xplory is even more incredible because it can be customized. Oh boy! You know how much MommyQ loves anything with fabric options. Thanks to Xplory Moods, you can mix and match fabrics to create your own signature look. Check out the fabric options here.

Buy the Stokke Xplory Complete at BabyEarth for about $1200. Speaking of custom baby gear, this week I will be blogging about diaper bags from Kirsten James. Stay tuned!

A Diaper Bag Just Like Angelina’s

storksakA few years ago, when Angelina Jolie-Pitt was not a Pitt, this was the diaper bag she was spotted toting around town. I love the fact that it’s Pewter, so it goes with everything! It’s the ‘Emily’ Diaper Bag from Storksak and you can get one for around $175 at Nordstrom. If you’re not a pewter kinda gal, it also comes in a yummy bronze.

It may look like a normal bag, but it has tons of storage compartments and insulated pockets, not to mention a padded changing mat, detachable bag, mobile pocket (who doesn’t need one of those!) and wipe-clean lining. Go ahead, it’s still cool to be like Angie. 😉

If you’re looking for an even more indulgent diaper bag, check out the Felix Ray ‘Emma’ Diaper Bag. Pleated details, a bow and goldtone studs? FUN! And you’ll be paying for that fun too. It retails for $450 at Nordstrom.
