Who is MommyQ? Well, she’s a lot of things: Friend. Mother. Daughter. Sister. Bestie. Raging nerd. Pure Barre fanatic. Autism advocate. Coffee fiend. Word wrangler. The antithesis of outdoorsy. The queen of Campbell’s soup casseroles. High school drama geek. Eye candy enthusiast. Food Network junkie. Occasional grudge holder.
At the helm of MommyQ is Cathy Hale, a nationally recognized writer, marketing and public relations specialist, social media strategist and event producer. A self-proclaimed caffeine addict and cynic, Cathy’s blog gives a candid, yet humorous perspective about parenting and motherhood with a twist of sarcasm and splash of humor. And sometimes only a trickle of humor. Cathy began navigating the wild world of motherhood as a blogger when her eldest son was diagnosed with autism at the age of three. He has been her hero and inspiration ever since.
For the past year, Cathy has been writing for Lake Travis Lifestyle, so if you live in Austin and the Texas Hill Country, you should be reading it. (Duh.)
Blah, blah, blah
Cathy has contributed original content to the most popular parenting and lifestyle-focused websites as well as local and national magazines. She has also dabbled in television, appearing on local shows as a guest and as a reporter. In 2012, she appeared on a episode of HGTV’d (HGTV) with designer Thom Filicia that was filmed at her home in Austin, TX.
Cathy produced some of the hottest parties and fundraisers in Austin, San Antonio and Oklahoma City. She had the honor of working with non-profits like Austin Pets Alive!, Dell Children’s Medical Center and Cancer Center Council, as well as working with outstanding bands, emcees and event partners.
