  • If you’ve read my blog for a while, you know I’m nutty for pretend food. Maybe it’s from my childhood or maybe it’s just because fake food is so freakin’ cute. Either way, no matter the reason, pretend food rocks.

Wanna hear something funny? When I was little, my sister and I played with Barbies constantly. I never cared for the bad fake Barbie food, so my sister and I would create Barbie-sized portions out of Play-Doh. We made pizzas, hamburgers, sunny-side-up eggs, donuts, popsicles, etc. We would spend an evening planning Barbies’ meals. We would let the Play-Doh food dry out and harden. It was great!

So here’s my new favorite pretend food. Ice cream and sweets.

This is from Melissa & Doug and you can find it at The Land of Nod. They also have a Cookie Set that’s pretty cute.

These are just divine! Find Fabric Dainty Treats at The Land of Nod too.

cupcakekitA cupcake kit complete with a hat and chicken timer. Is this fun or what? Yes, TLON. So much fake food, so little time!

  • As a mom, I see lots of little things. Tiny cars with tiny wheels. Little crackers with a little amount of peanut butter on them. Small hands with even smaller fingernails. But the delicate tiny details on these little baby booties blow my equally little mind!!!!

You’ve got to see these to believe them. Are they not gorgeous? Wow. You can shop Craftsbury Kids to see even more goodies.

Fuji Apple Baby Booties – $32

Gracious May Mary Janes – Vintage Baby – $30

Gracious May Mary Janes – Polka Dot Rose – $30

Seriously, somebody leave me a comment and let me know you’re excited about these adorable shoes too. I just think they would make such a great baby shower gift too. What a unique little treat, huh?

  • If you’re breastfeeding, you already know all of the wonderful benefits it provides for both you and your baby. But what if mommy wants to indulge in a drinky-poo? In the past, we’ve had to “pump & dump” to be sure we weren’t passing any alcohol along to baby. Thanks to the innovative folks at UpSpring Baby, you never have to pump your precious milk and dump it again!

Get a load of this adorable swimsuit and cover-up for your little princess. It’s Dolce & Gabbana so it’s rather pricey…$75 for the suit only…I don’t expect you to buy it. But I do expect you to drool over it just a bit. The Animalier Swimsuit features a brown ocelot print with white trim.  It even has ruffles on the neckline. The cover-up has a little key hole with a tie. Wait, I think I want one for myself! Too bad the sizes only go up to 24 months. Shop this stylish suit at Neiman Marcus.

You may know her as Chelsea Lately, the hilariously sarcastic comedienne on E! I know her as Hero #3. I’m not sure who my first two heroes are, but Chelsea certainly gets the third spot.

Her show is just the right amount of news, celeb gossip and cynicism, which I really appreciate at the end of the day. You know what I mean, everything – no matter how profound – is just plain old stupid or annoying by 10:00 p.m. I don’t want to hear one serious thought after 9:36 p.m.  And Chelsea gets that! Ah, refreshing.

Anyway, if you haven’t seen the show yet, you should tune in one night. I assure you it will either make you laugh or deeply offend you. Either way, it’s thoroughly entertaining. Just a friendly TV tip from MommyQ.

  • There are two things I love about this maternity cover up…it’s not black and it’s not white! This cute cotton Button Front cover-up features a fresh paisley print in shades of green and long sleeves. Perfect for transporting that growing belly at the pool or the beach. You could easily wear it as a top with shorts or jeans too.  Retails for $58 at A Pea in The Pod.
